Replacement Parts
The emission control system in your
Tohat su ou t board mo tor has be en
designed, built, and certified to conform
with the EPA and California emission reg-
ulations. Whenever requesting mainte-
nance, use of Tohatsu Genuine parts is
highly recommended. Tohatsu Genuine
parts constitute replacement parts man-
ufactured to the same high standards as
the original par ts, thus guaranteeing
uninterrupted high performance of your
outboard motor. The use of replacement
parts other than Tohatsu Genuine parts
could jeopardize the effectiveness of the
emission control system.
Tohatsu, as a manufacturer of aftermar-
ket parts, assumes the responsibility that
replacement par ts will not adversely
affect emission performance. The manu-
facturer or rebuilder of the replacements
parts must certify that use of the parts
will not result in a failure of the engine to
comply with these regulations.

Maintenance
Follow the maintenance schedule pre-
sented on page 49. Keep in mind that this
schedule is based on the assumption that
the outboard motor will only be used for
its intended purpose. Operation under
sustained high loads or other unusual
conditions will require more frequent
service.
