Appendix E

How to upgrade the firmware

From time to time Tobii will release new updates of the eye tracker firmware that will improve performance and/or introduce new
functionality. Follow the instructions below to upgrade the firmware on your eye tracker.

1.

Download the firmware zip-file from the support section on the Tobii web site.

2.

Extract the firmware file (XXX.tobiipkg) from the downloaded zip-file.

3.

Make sure the eye tracker is connected and working.

4.

Open the Tobii Eye Tracker Browser, found under Start > All Programs > Tobii.

5.

In the Tobii Eye Tracker Browser mark the eye tracker that is to be upgraded.

6.

Click the Upgrade button.

7.

Browse to the folder where the firmware file was extracted.

8.

Select the new firmware file with the file extension .tobiipkg and click OK.

9.

The upgrade will start and an upgrade message should appear.

10. During the upgrade process the eye tracker will disappear from the Eye Tracker Browser for up to one minute. Do not

unplug any cables during this time.

11. The firmware upgrade is completed when the eye tracker reappears in the Eye Tracker Browser.
