MAINTENANCE
Caution:
To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken when using
any electrical appliance near water.
Caution:
Always isolate the REEF-Fill System from the mains electricity before installing or
carrying out any maintenance.
1. Check regularly to ensure that the float switch/IR sensor and float switch guard are clean
and free of any dirt or detritus. If using in a marine saltwater tank, ensure that the float
switch/IR sensor and the float switch guard are also free of any salt and/or calcium
deposits.
Please note:
We highly recommend that this is checked at least once a week.
Failure to do so could result in operating problems and water overflowing from your sump
or aquarium.
2. Regularly check to ensure all connections are tightly secured.
3. Test float/IR sensor by physically moving them in the water to ensure switch is operating
correctly.
4. Clean the pump regularly to ensure it does not become clogged with debris or detritus.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU ADD ANYTHING TO THE RO
CHAMBER in your aquarium set up other than re-mineralisers. Precipitation of
elements may damage the REEF-Fill pump.
TROUBLE SHOOTING

Solution: Ensure parts are clean and working. Re-install in correct position, then turn off
and on again. Test components for correct activation.
Problem: Pump activating with high water levels
1. Possible cause: Smart Monitoring System unit error and/or float switch/IR sensor error.
