Translation in RS232 cable for TANDBERG 8000 dual monitor
TANDBERG 8000 has an
Intelligent VGA <-> S-Video switching device
connected to Dataport
1 to utilize the local dual monitor. It will switch to the VGA cable (thus XGA resolution

on
dual monitor) when PC is selected and S-Video cable (xCIF resolution on dual monitor) when
e.g. Main Camera is selected.
Furthermore, whenever the TANDBERG 8000 system receives a video stream / presentation in
XGA resolution, the presentation will be displayed on the dual monitor. This is applicable to
receiving XGA presentations on either the main or the duo video stream.
The command translations done by the chip in the RS232 connector is shown below.

Note: The command
dualmon open
is a common command for all DuoVideo sessions, and thus
not only for PC. This means that duo video with aux, vcr and doc cam will also be shown in
VGA mode.
