Increment
In increment mode, the pusher moves the same distance every time the start button is pressed. It is frequently used to cut
repeated parts of the same length.
•
Positive increments move toward the tool.
•
Positive increments compensate for kerf by adding the kerf to the increment movement.
•
Negative increments move away from the tool.
1. From the Ready Screen (
), press the [Show] soft key to
display expanded options.
2. Press the [Incr] soft key.
3. Enter the size you want to increment and press
.
Example: The pictures show results for an initial position of 42 inches (1067
mm), increment size of 3 inches (76.2 mm), and kerf of 0.125 inches
(3.2 mm).
4. Press
to begin incrementing.
•
Move to a new position (e.g. to load new material) without leaving
increment mode by entering the target position and pressing
.
5. When you are finished, press
STOP
to return to the Ready Screen.
Calculator
Example: Press
.
The result (85) will appear in the ‘Next’ field in the current units.
Pressing
will move the pusher to the calculated position.
Calculator mode does simple math, setting the result as the target position.
From the Ready Screen (
pg. 10),
use the number and math buttons to enter math problems.
The current position can be used as the first number in a calculation.
This is most useful for moving a specific distance from the current position.
Example: Press
The positioner will move toward the minimum by 40 mm, inches, or degrees (depending on the current units).
It is impossible to enter a negative target position for a manual movement (because the
button starts a calculation).
Instead, use the calculator mode to set negative target positions.
Example: Press
on the controller for mitering motion.
The saw table will rotate to set the miter angle to -45°.
(Recall that negative miter angles point the blade towards the infeed.)
