1. Application
The Prüfball ZAP 1050L is a two-pole voltage tester
with LCD and LED indication and connectible load resi-
stance which is integrated within the connecting line.
You can use the Prüfball ZAP 1050L to measure d.c. and
a.c. voltages within the rated voltage range mentioned
on the type plate, determine polarity, phase, phase
sequence, continuity, as well as perform fast start-up
tests by connecting the load.
The casing is made of an unbreakable solid rubber and
protects the internal electronics against heavy shocks,
water and dust. Thanks to its high degree of protection
(IP65) the Prüfball ZAP 1050L may even be used in rain.
The Prüfball ZAP 1050L works without battery, the
buffer cell for continuity tests is automatically charged
during voltage tests.
2. Safety Precautions
You have choosen for a device that provides a high
level of safety.
When used for its intended purpose, the safety of the
operator, as well as that of the instrument, is assured.
In order to maintain flawless technical safety condi-
tions, and to assure safe use, it is imperative that you
read these operating instructions thoroughly and
carefully before placing your instrument into ser-
vice, and that you follow all instructions contained
therein.
Observe the following safety precautions:
The voltages indicated on the Prüfball ZAP 1050L
are rated voltages. The voltage tester may only be
used in systems working within these rated
voltage ranges.
Faultless indication of display values is only
guaranteed between -10° and +55°C.
Hold the instrument by the handles only, to
avoid covering the display and not touching the
test electrodes.
Before they are used, voltage testers need to be
checked to ensure they function correctly. Carry
out the function test and check the instrument at
a known voltage source - e.g. a 230 V socket.
If indication of one or several systems fails in the
course of checking, the instrument must not be
used again.
The maximum on-time is 30 seconds.
For the determination of phase conductors and
phase sequence the perceptibility of the display
may be impaired, e.g. in unfavourable locations,
for example on wooden ladders or insulating
floor coverings, as well as in an improperly,
grounded a.c. voltage system.
The voltage tester may only be dismantled by
authorised personnel.
Voltage tester must be clean and dry.
