1 General Information
upLED™
1 General Information
The upLED™ is an easy-to-use, constant current LED driver for mounted Thorlabs LEDs that
feature a M8 x 1 circular connector. Each upLED™ controls one LED. To control multiple LEDs,
several upLED™ devices can be securely stacked on top of each other using the guides on the
housing. The upLED™ can also be used with alternative LEDs, provided they have a required
connector and appropriate specifications.
The upLED™ controls the connected LED either directly using a potentiometer with linear func-
tion or using the upSERIES™ Software interface when the upLED™ is connected to a PC.
The Thorlabs upSERIES Software provides a graphical user interface to adjust the settings for
one or multiple upLED™ devices, when the upLED™ is connected to a PC via a USB 2.0 con-
nection. Further, the upSERIES™ Software displays the supplied current and voltage as meas-
ured and reported by the upLED™. The upSERIES™ Software and its operating manual are
available for download from the product
website .
For enhanced flexibility, any power supply (not included) fulfilling the requirements stated in the
technical data can be adjusted using the power supply adapter and connected to the upLED™.
To monitor temperature, the upLED™ can be conveniently stacked up with a upTEMP™ mul-
tichannel USB temperature logger as the two devices feature the same stackable housing and
can be controlled by the same upSERIES™ Software interface.

The following PC specifications are required for remote operation of the upLED™ USB LED
Driver.
