PM5020 Dual-Channel Benchtop Power and Energy Meter

Chapter 4 Operating Instructions

4.11.3.4  WYOA

The PM5020 power meter remote operation can be integrated into custom made systems with the help of
the provided SCPI commands and drivers.

The SCPI commands are saved on the PM5020 internal memory and can be conveniently viewed in a web
browser.

1. Connect the PM5020 to a PC using the supplied USB cable.

2. Touch the icon SD Card in the

Settings Menu

.

This connects the PM5020 power meter to the PC.

3. A new removable disk will appear on the connected PC.

4. Open  the  subfolder  "support_docs"  in  a  web  browser  (for  example  edge,  firefox).  This  .html  file  con-

tains all information required to writer a custom made applications.

For  PM5020  drivers,  please  either  use  NI-Visa  drivers  possibly  already  installed  on  the  PC,  or  use  the
Thorlabs TLP drivers which are installed with the Optical Power Monitor (OPM) software. The Thorlabs TLP
drivers  are  compatible  with  all  other  Thorlabs  power  meter  drivers.  Please  see  the  manual  for  OPM  for
more information.
