4. A rice cooker is perfect for efficiently boiling a pot of potatoes without
taking up a burner on a stove.
5. It can also keep a pot of mashed potatoes, pasta, or other food, warm
for long periods of time without burning.
6. Use the rice cooker as a steamer. Dumplings and fish can be steamed
by adding sufficient water in the rice pot. Alternatively, you can place it
in a plate above the rice.
7. Eggs can be cracked on top of the rice just after the rice has finished
cooking, and with the lid on, will steam gently on the keep-warm setting.
8. A rice cooker does not let as much steam escape compared to
cooking rice on a stove top, therefore, not as much water is required.
Depending on the quantity being cooked, allow about up to 40 minutes
to cook white rice.
CARE AND CLEANING
Ensure to carry out the below cleaning procedure after each use.
Step 1. Unplug cord from the wall outlet.
Step 2. Before cleaning, allow the appliance to completely cool.
Step 3. Remove any additional rice in the pot using the plastic rice paddle
provided.
NOTE:
Do not use metal scoops which will destroy the non-stick coating
of the rice pot.
Step 4. Wash the rice pot, glass lid and rice paddle after each use using
warm soap water. Use only non-abrasive scourers/sponges to
wash the non-stick rice pot.
Step 5. Rinse and ensure all parts are completely dry before storage.
Step 6. Clean the exterior of the Rice cooker with a damp non abrasive
cloth with some soapy water.
Step 7. Ensure the appliance is dried thoroughly and free from oil before
storage.
