Replace the
temperature probe
Before proceeding to replace the temperature probe make sure that the
following materials are available:
•
Electronic temperature sensor, reference STP-059
•
Cyanoacrylate adhesive (e.g. Loctite, etc.)
•
Silicone for semiconductors
•
Standard neutral silicone
•
Solvent for cleaning
•
Three sealed terminal clips
•
Pliers for crimping the terminal tags
Dismantling the
paraffin bath
Procedure:
1. Remove the lower cover (three screws Phillips M3x5 and one
sheet metal screw) and remove the probe, cutting the silicone and
the three cables
2. Scrape off the silicone and adhesive using a cutter
3. Clean the surface with solvent and allow to dry
4. Place the new probe with the flat face in contact with the surface
(Refer to the figure ), and glue it in position using the cyanoacrylate
adhesive (use the adhesive with care, and follow the
manufacturer's instructions)
5. Once the adhesive has hardened, cover the area with
semiconductor silicone to increase the contact surface area.
6. Then cover the area around the probe with standard neutral
silicone to insulate the sensor from the environmental temperature.
7. Connect the cables of the new probe to the terminal tags making
sure that the colours are correct:
Brown -> Green
Red -> Yellow
Black -> Grey
8. Replace the cover.
9. Check the correct operation of the unit
