•

Using a Heat Extractor in combination with a cryo mold or specimen stage promotes a faster
freezing method which freezes from the top and the bottom simultaneously.

•

It also reduces the formation of freezing artifacts.

•

The specimen stage is inserted into the fast freezing rail and the specimen mounted. A cryo mold
can also be used.

•

The Heat Extractor is then placed horizontally on top of the specimen.

•

When the specimen has completely frozen remove the Heat Extractor.
