3.2.4 Assembly
Figure 7: Working with angled and extended excavator shovel
The mounting side of the TBE-12N must be determined on the ex-
cavator depending on the position of the cab. If the receiver position
at the right on the dipper arm is preferred (seen from the cab), the
magnetic holder must be unscrewed and the receiver turned. No
adjustments are necessary for mounting at the left.
Next, a free available location on the dipper arm must be found for
the TBE-12N. Before attaching the receiver it is recommended to
draw the exact position and alignment on the dipper arm precisely.
The more accurate the receiver is aligned, the more exact the future
measuring results.
Version 1:
The orientation is
aligned with line “B” so that the
receiver is later exactly aligned
with the joint (Figure 7- Ver-
sion 1).
Version 2:
The orientation is
aligned with line “B” so that the
receiver is later exactly aligned
with the shovel blade (Figure 7-
Version 2).
The following applies to both versions:
These lines should be marked exactly on the dipper arm (e.g. using
a straight piece of lattice). Furthermore, a mark must be applied at
the height of the desired receiver position at the point where the
bottom edge of the TBE-12N is supposed to be later.
Now the distance from the joint to the bottom edge of the receiver
(Version 1) or the distance from the blade to the bottom edge of the
receiver (Version 2) must be measured. The respective dimension
