Figure 11 Adjusting the Belt Tension
If the belt is worn or cracked, it must be
replaced.
BELT REPLACEMENT
If replacement is required order original replacement
belt from your dealer
1.
Remove the mower from the tractor.
2.
Remove the left and right hand belt covers by
removing bolts and washers.
3.
Remove the tension screw and lock nut, in
Figure 11.
4.
Remove the R.H. gear box support bracket,
shown in Figure 11.
5.
Remove the belt from the tension pulley over
the top of gear box and discard the used belt.
6.
Install the new belt by reversing the above
procedure. The belt tension should be
adjusted as described under BELT
ADJSUTMENT.
7.
lnstall the gear box bracket (R.H.) and belt
covers securely.
8.
Install the mower on the tractor, see page 21
to 22 for installation instructions
STORAGE/TROUBLE SHOOTING
STORAGE
If your mower attachment is to be stored for an
extended period, it is advisable to do the following,
1.
Remove grass build-up from underside of
deck.
2.
Clean and wash entire mower deck.
3.
Lubricate mower deck thoroughly. See
MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
CHART.
4.
Before operating mower again, check mower
belt and blades.
It is not advisable to store your mower in an area
where it will come in contact with fertiliser fumes.
Fertiliser fumes can damage your mower’s paint
finish.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
STREAKING: Leaving strips of uncut grass.
Possible Causes : Deck not level front to rear, dull
blades, tip of blade not square, blade lift worn off, low
engine RPM. Incorrect length replacement blade, not
enough overlapping between cutting rows, ground
speed too high, belt slippage, wet grass, blade
upside down.
SCALPING: Blades hitting dirt or cutting very close
to the ground.
Possible Causes: Ground speed too high, rough
terrain, deck mounted improperly blade upside down,
cutting too low, incorrect blade pitch, incorrect anti-
scalp roller setting.
STRINGERS: Occasional blades of uncut grass.
Possible Causes: Low RPM, plugged deck, dull
blades, ground speed too high, belt slippage, wet
grass, blade upside down.
UNEVEN CUT: Wavy appearance, high, low, high.
Possible Causes: Too much blade (deck) pitch, bent
deck, uneven ground, deck mounted improperly,
plugged deck, lift worn off blade, dull blades, bent
spindle mounting area, bent blades, ground speed
too high.
