Application/Adjustment
1.
Open the hook-and-loop closures
on the cover of the dorsal rods, and
pull the two white dorsal rods out
of their channels.
2.
Remove the end caps from the dorsal rods.
3.
Bend the dorsal rods into anatomical
shape. (Use bending guide on back of
box as a reference.)
4.
Shorten the rods according to the
patient‘s body height (use a saw).
5.
Put the end caps back on the dorsal rods.
6.
Push the anatomically shaped dorsal
rods back into the channels on the
orthosis (fig. 2).
7.
Hold the orthosis against the pa-
tient‘s back to check if length and
shape fit (length and/or bending
radius of rods). Take care to leave a
gap of two finger widths between
the orthosis and C7 (fig. 3).
8.
Ask the patient to don the orthosis, like
a backpack, over the shoulders (fig. 4).
