Protecting an Energized Test Sample
If your test sample is energized, it may be capable of raising the workspace temperature beyond
safe limits. This could occur if your test sample exceeds the live load rating of the chamber or if
the chamber’s refrigeration system fails.
This chamber has a set of safety contacts that can be used to remove power to your test sample if
the Limit Controller’s temperature limits are exceeded.
The safety contacts are rated as follows:
Resistive: 10 A, 250 VAC or 10 A, 28 VDC. Inductive: 7 A, 250 VAC
To access the safety contacts:
1.
Unplug the chamber from the power source.
2.
Remove the top cover.
3.
Locate relay CR1 on the electrical sub panel as indicated below. Remove the retaining clip
and unplug the relay. Connections to the safety contacts are at relay CR1 socket, terminals 6
and 8. Plug in the relay and reposition the retaining clip when finished.
