6. Testing a mains cord (IEC) & Extension Lead
Plug the
IEC Lead
plug into the 13a socket on the tester, link the end of the IEC lead into the
connection at the rear of the tester.
For an
Extension Lead
, plug the mains plug of the extension lead, into the 13a socket of the tester, reel off
the cable from the extension lead. Then connect the IEC Lead that came with the , tester into the 13a outlet of
the extension lead .Complete the loop by connecting the other end of the IEC Lead into the appropriate socket
outlet at the Rear of the Tester
Press the Cord button to start the test, providing everything is ok the tester will carry out the
Earth, Insulation and Polarity tests with individual result and an overall
