3.6 ARB 5500 Arbitrary Waveform Generator
Systems ordered (or upgraded) with the +ARB Option contain one ARB 5500. Additional ARB 5500 modules
can be added at any service center.
A CTR 5502 can be equipped with up to eight ARB 5500 arbitrary waveform generators.
Each ARB 5500 contains the nec/- 10V control signal for driving a source like Teseq’s PA 5840 or PA
5740. The ARB 5500 also provides a 0-10V control signal is provided for Teseq sources with a programmable
current limit. A programmable TTL trigger is also provided.
The ARB 5500 has a bandwidth of 500 kHz and features stepless playback of many fully parameterized
waveforms:
The MT 5511 allows selection of different internal output resistances under software control. If enabled in
AutoStar, the Ri jacks will not internally be bypassed. This will allow to add an additional resistance to the
selected internal pulse output resistor.
The ARB 5500 has a bandwidth of 500 kHz and features stepless playback of many fully parameterized waveforms:
Sine Waves
Square Waves
DC
Ramps
Exponential (Rise and Fall)
Triangle Waves
Switching
A typical test is made of up one or more of these segment types. The NSG 5500 equipped
with the +ARB Option can perform 64,000 segments shared between up to eight channels.
