Changing the safety cartridge
• Remove main cartridge.
• Remove the safety cartridge (51/3) by carefully
turning and tilting and dispose of it according to
regulations.
• Clean the filter housing with a damp cloth,
especially the seal area for the cartridges.
• Install the new safety cartridge in the filter housing
by slightly turning it.
• Install the main cartridge in the filter housing.
• Re-mount the cover along with the dust ejection
valve to the bottom and re-fasten with tension
brackets (51/5).

V-belt
• Check the entire V-belt for damage (visual
inspection). Replace damaged or worn V-belts
immediately.
Checking V-belt tension
Checking without a belt tensioner gauge
• Press the V-belt with your thumb in the middle of
the greatest free length, and measure the V-belt
sag.
Danger of injury
due to rotating V-belts.
• Only check and tension V-belts with the
engine off.
• Secure the engine against unauthorized
starting.
Attention
We recommend checking the V-belt tension
using a V-belt belt tensioner gauge.
• Check the tension in accordance with the
manufacturer’s Operating Instructions.
Attention
Using medium thumb pressure of approx.
10.12 lbs (approx. 9.92 lbs), the V-belt sag
should equal 0.51 in.
