Engine
4.3.1
Starting
• All gearshift levers in neutral position.
• Insert ignition key in glow plug and starter switch
(14/33).
• Turn ignition key clockwise to Position "1"; the
indicator lamps (14/18,14/20) light up.
• Pre-heating starts; the indicator lamp (14/19)
lights up.
• Move manual throttle (14/9) to 2/3-throttle
position.
• After the indicator lamp (14/19) has gone out, turn
the glow plug and starter switch to Position "2". As
soon as the engine is running, turn the ignition key
back to Position "1" and decrease the revs to low
idle speed. The indicator lamps should go out.
• Retract the manual throttle (14/9) when the engine
is running.
• If the engine has not started after max. 30 se-
conds, turn the ignition key to "1" or "0", and pause
for at least 1 minute before trying again; repeat the
start-up procedure.
• If the engine has not started after 4 start-up
procedures, determine the source of fault.
Attention
Each time before putting the machine into
operation, the inspections according to
(
7.7, 67) must be carried out.
Danger to life
due to presence in the danger zone.
• Before switching on the engine always
ensure that no-one is in the danger zone of
the machine.

Engine damage
Avoid damaging the engine by:
• not driving the engine at full throttle straight
away.
• driving with restraint until the engine has
reached its operating temperature.
