Oil Pressure Switch

The engine oil pressure switch is a normally open

switch. The switch contacts close at approximately

7 psi / 0.48 bar. If the oil pressure drops below the

switch point, the contacts open and the engine will

shut off to prevent damage.

How to Replace the Oil Pressure

Switch

1 Open the battery box on the engine side of the

machine.

2 Tag and disconnect the wiring from the switch.

Remove the switch from the engine.

Burn hazard. Beware of hot

engine components. Contact

with hot engine components

may result in severe burns.

3 Install the new switch and tighten. Torque to

8-18 ft-lbs / 11-24 Nm.

4 Note: Always use pipe thread sealant when

installing a new switch.
