Switching ON / switching OFF
Your Sa® system is very straightforward to use. When switching on the
system, you can select between satellite mode (SAT mode) and solar mode (SOLAR
mode).
If you press , your Sa® will switch into the satellite mode and return
to the position in which a satellite was last received. If the location has changed
since the last point of satellite reception, then the system will start an automatic
satellite search and will fi ne-tune itself to an optimal position. Please remember
to select the desired programme of the corresponding satellite at your satellite
receiver and to switch on your TV set or fl at-panel display. The Sa® system
functions independently of your TV set or receiver, but if these devices are switched
off, no TV or radio programme can be received.
If you press , your Sa® will switch into solar mode, and its solar panel
will follow the sun‘s path during the course of the day. The fi rst thing the system
does is to determine the current position of the sun. To do this, it needs to know its
own position. This is obtained via a GPS receiver and an electronic compass, which
provide the required data at all times. This means that the solar panel is able to turn
towards the sun as soon as you switch the system on. If the system is disconnec-
ted from the onboard battery then this data is lost. When it is reconnected to the
onboard electric system of the vehicle and switched on again, the system fi rst needs
to run through a short synchronisation cycle (display: „Clock sync wait“) while it
gathers all the necessary information. The Sa® will not be extended during
this time. Instead, you will see the message on the display
while the required data are being obtained.
Several default settings can be selected for the satellite mode and also for the solar
mode. Please observe sections
