9. PRINTING AND SAVING SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
9.1. "Print to file" of the system configuration
A useful feature in the system makes possible to obtain a text file with all the system configuration
parameters. Useful to store the configuration of several different customers or for direct feedback
without the need to connect with the system once installed. To obtain this function, follow these
steps:
•
From the terminal window, exit from the program with the "U" command and confirm
•
In the terminal program menu choose "Transfer", "Capture Text" and the name of the file
you want to create or where the print of the system configuration is added if it already
exists.
•
Write the command "print" on the DIAL-112 command line, then wait for the write and from
the terminal program menu select "Stop Capture".
•
After finishing the writing process, to restart the DIAL-112 program, write "dial".
You will received a text file that is saved in the specified location and the name chosen above. This
file resides in the PC physically connected to the device and not in the DIAL-112 itself! This file is
clearly readable with a normal text editor program.
9.2. Configuration file saving function
Another feature makes it possible to save all the system parameters in a file (not editable with a
text editor and automatically created in the PC connected via the terminal, with the name
D1234567, where the number represents the serial number of the system ). To achieve this,
proceed as follows:
•
From the Terminal window, exit the program with the command "U" and confirm.
•
Write the command "save" on the DIAL-112 command line, wait for the response.
•
After the response, to start again the DIAL-112 program, write "dial".
This file can then be used to program other devices in a completely identical way to that on which
the file was created or ca be used to form the basis of parameters measured as a backup definitely
working (e.g system restore after testing programming or reset to factory default the parameters of
DIAL-112).
9.3. Restore function from backup file
If you want to reload the data in the same device, or want to send the parameters to another DIAL-
112 to obtain the same programming, exit from program with the command "U", confirm and from
the HyperTerminal window click "transfer", then "Send File" with "Zmodem protocol" and press
"send." After loading, launch the DIAL-112 program using the "dial" command.
9.4. Reset of the configuration parameters to factory defaults
If it is necessary to restore the system with the configuration in the initial state, as when it was
provided by TEMA, follow these steps:
•
From the terminal window, exit the program with the command "U" and confirm.
•
Write the command "flashrst" on the DIAL-112 command line and wait.
•
After command finish, to start the DIAL-112 program again, write "dial".
WARNING: All numbers in the table and the device programming will be irretrievably lost! The
programming parameters will revert to their default value.
