Auxiliary menu
– overview
Usage
The auxiliary menu is used to configure all analog inputs and
analog outputs of the CPU5500 central unit. A number of external
devices, like a CD player or a microphone with preamplifier, could
be connected to the auxiliary input. Other devices, like a recording
unit, could be connected to the auxiliary outputs. Also distance
conferencing is possible between two conference rooms.
The devices that will be connected to the central unit differ from
configuration to configuration. Therefore the menu allows the
auxiliary inputs and outputs to be configured as needed.
The outputs
The system has 6 auxiliary outputs. The
AUX OUT 1
is an XLR-
3M output and the
AUX OUT 1-6
is contained within the D-sub
connector. Also, it is possible to enable distance conferencing. This
will be discussed later in this paragraph.
The other outputs,
AUX OUT 1-2-3-4-5-6,
are contained within the
D-sub connector. The pin assignment of this connector has been
discussed in the connector and cables section.
Volume:
The volume of the outputs can be configured to the
correct level. Just enter the
Volume
menu item and set the
appropriate level. The volume level will change as the jog wheel is
being turned. However, if you want to save the settings so that the
system always booths with a certain volume level on that port, then
use the "Preset – Save Preset" menu option.
Aux Out 1 has also a volume setting specifically to the XLR
output. This volume is in conjunction with the master volume,
meaning that when you change the master volume, the XLR
volume will also change. However, an offset is set with this
parameter.
Channel:
The audio signal of the interpretation channel which an
auxiliary output should output is configured within the
Channel
menu item. The channels out of which can be chosen depend on the
configuration of the available channels.
Status:
The status setting of the auxiliary output enables or disables
the selected output. To use any translated channel or the floor
channel, use the "ON-TMS" option. To use any special
functionality like N-1 (mix-minus) or use of a mixer, you use the
"ON-TIS" option. This will be further explained in an application
note.
Aux Out 6:
This channel is also linked to the monitoring
loudspeaker and headphone. The volume can be separately changed
for the loudspeaker and the output on D-sub connector.
