Problems
Recommendations
If opening and/or
closing becomes difficult:
Remove the seal and run it under water

Put it back in the lid without drying it

If you cannot close
the lid:
Check that the lid handle is in the vertical position.
Check that the seal is positioned correctly (see the
“Cleaning and maintenance” paragraph).
Check that the lid is correctly positioned as shown
in

Run the seal under water and put it back in the lid
without drying it

and make sure to place it
under the notches in the lid

If your pressure cooker
has heated under
pressure without any
liquid inside:
Consult a Tefal approved service centre.
If the pressure
indicator makes clicking
sounds and emits jets
of steam:
This is normal for the first few minutes: it allows the air
to escape before cooking.
If the pressure
indicator has not risen
and nothing is released
through the valve
during cooking:
This is normal for the first few minutes.
If it persists, check that:
- The quantity of liquid in the pot is sufficient.
- The heat source is strong enough, otherwise increase it.
- The operating valve (
A
) is positioned at
.
- Your pressure cooker is firmly closed.
- The seal or rim of the pot are not damaged.
- The seal is correctly positioned
If the pressure indicator
has risen and nothing
is released through the
valve during cooking:
This is normal for the first few minutes.
If it persists, run cold water in your sink and immerse the
bottom of your pressure cooker in it until the pressure
indicator (
D
) goes down.

Recommendations
If steam is leaking
around the lid, and the
pressure indicator is
in the down position,
check:
The lid is closed correctly.
The position of the seal in the lid.
The seal is in good condition, otherwise replace it.
The cleanliness of the lid, the seal and its housing
in the lid.
The pot’s rim is in a good condition.
If you cannot open the
lid:
Check that the pressure indicator (
D
) is down.
Otherwise, release the pressure: run cold water in your
sink and immerse the bottom of your pressure cooker
in it until the pressure indicator comes down. Never
tamper with the pressure indicator (
D
).
Turn the operating valve (
A
) to position .
If food is not cooked or is
burnt, check:
The cooking time.
The power of the heat source.
The correct position of the operating valve (
A
).
The quantity of liquid
If food has burned
inside your pressure
cooker:
Fill the pot with water and soak for a while before
washing it.
Never use bleach or chlorine products.
If one of the safety
systems is triggered:
Turn off the heat.
Leave your pressure cooker to cool down without
moving it. Wait for the pressure indicator to go down
and open it.
Check and clean the operating valve (
A
), the steam
release vent, the safety valve and the seal.
Ensure that the pressure cooker has been filled
appropriately and the quantity of liquid sufficient.
If the problem persists, consult a Tefal approved
service centre.
