Setting the SCSI ID
NOTE: Any SCSI setting 0 through 6 can be selected, provided it is not being used
for another SCSI device. 0, 1 and 6 are usually reserved for hard disk drives. 4 is the
recommended setting.

Make sure the SCSI bus is properly terminated. It may be necessary to
change the SCSI termination settings on your host adapter board. Refer to
the section entitled “About SCSI Bus Termination” in Appendix A, and to
your host adapter board documentation for more information.
Completing the Installation
1.
Remove the plastic shipping insert from the tape drive by pressing it in and
then releasing it.
2.
Power up the tape drive by pressing the ON/OFF switch on the back of the
tape drive to ON (|).
3.
Restore power to your computer.
4.
Refer to your software installation guide to load the appropriate QIC drive
software into your computer.
5.
Fill out and return the warranty registration card.
1.
Using a pen tip or the end of a
paper clip, set the QIC drive
SCSI ID by pressing on the
up- and down-arrows on the
SCSI ID selector.
CAUTION: Do not remove
the clear mylar protective
cover from the SCSI ID
selector. Doing so can expose
the drive to electro-static
shock and damage drive
components.
