After activating global Parental Control, all mentioned functions should be chosen by marking.
Only calling up the menu is blocked automatically. After choosing the blocked channel, sources, func-
tions or menu the PIN query mode appears.
2 User-selected Parental Control
In the User-selected Parental Control it is possible to open up to 4 user pro fi les. After activating one out
of those four pro fi les, the fi fth pro fi le – Parents’ Pro fi le – launches itself automatically. The settings of
Parents’ Pro fi le correlate to the global Parental Control. After opening a pro fi le, all programmes, sour-
ces, and functions are automatically blocked and have to be provided by marking. Calling up the menu
with the active User-selected Parental Control is possible only in the Parents’ Pro
fi le.
All activated user pro fi les (except Parent’s Pro fi le) need to have a speci fi ed maximum daily usage pe-
riod. The PIN number appears directly after the device is switched on, having chosen a user pro fi le.
9.3.1 Global Parental Control
> Press Menu to open the main menu.
> Press the up/down arrows to select the Settings line.
> Press OK to con fi rm.
> Mark the Parental Control line using the up/down arrows.
> Having con fi rmed by pressing OK ., the Parental Control menu appears.
9.3.1.1 PIN query mode
In order to activate global parental control, you must activate PIN query mode.. To setup, update, use
the Kids’ Pro
fi le (User-Selected Parental Control) set the pin query mode.
> use the arrow keys up/down to set the pin query mode to select PIN in the line
> In this line use the arrows left/right to turn Global Parental Control on or o ff .
If you set the pin query mode to On and have not yet changed the PIN, you will be requested to chan-
ge the PIN.
9.3.1.2 Changing the PIN
The unit PIN code is set to 0000 at the factory. To change it, proceed as follows:
> Use the
up/down arrows to select the line Changing the PIN. Press the OK key.
The menu for changing the unit PIN code will be displayed.
> Now use the
numeric keys to enter the current unit PIN code in the line Unit PIN
> In the line Enter new PIN use the numeric keys to enter the desired new unit PIN code.
> Repeat the entry in the line Repeat new PIN.
Note!
Ensure that you do not forget the unit PIN code. If this does happen, please consult your retailer!
9.3.1.3 Access restriction
After switching the Global Parental Control on and changing the PIN of the device, the programmes , so-
urces and functions to be blocked need to be chosen. Blocked channels will be signalled with a padlock.
> Select the line Access restriction using the
up/down arrows.
> Con fi rm by pressing OK .
