weather vs. those caused by a change in
altitude. Therefore, although altitude has
not changed, the watch will display an
altitude reading that is lower than actual
altitude because of the high pressure
weather system.
• This situation can be mitigated by using
the altimeter/barometer lock feature and
turning off the sensor when not in use.
10.4 HOw DO I SET My KnOwn
(REFEREnCE) ALTITuDE?
Inevitably, skewed altitude readings discussed
in the situation above will occur. Thankfully,
it is a simple fix.
• To set the reference altitude, simply
follow the procedure discussed in the
functional exercise.
10.5 My BAROMETRIC PRESSuRE
READInG IS InCORRECT
• The pressure sensor in your new
Traileader watch is extremely sensitive
and accurate. That being said, it is
possible for there to be slight variations
in the Traileader’s measured pressure
reading vs. actual atmospheric pressure
but, please bear in mind that pressure
readings from television, internet, and
other similar sources are most often
measured at a local airport or weather
center. Unless you are physically at
the same exact location in which the
pressure reading is taken, the pressure
reading on your Traileader watch WILL
BE DIFFERENT due to weather, altitude,
and other factors.
• If you have sufficient evidence that the
pressure reading of your Traileader is
incorrect, it can be adjusted by following
the steps in section 9.2
10.6 THE COMPASS ISn’T ACCuRATE
• Make sure that you have set the correct
angle of declination for the area that the
compass is being used
• Make sure that the watch is far away
from magnets and objects and
appliances that contain magnets such
