Troubleshooting
If you have problems with your system, read this page and
try to solve the problem yourself before calling your dealer
or a TEAC service Center.
General
No power.
e
Check the connection to the AC power supply. Check
whether or not the AC source is a switched socket. If it
is, confirm that the switch is turned on. Confirm that
there is power to the AC socket by plugging another
item such as a lamp or fan into it.
No sound from speakers.
e
Select the source by pressing the FUNCTION button.
e
Adjust the volume.
e
Remove the headphone plug from the PHONES jack.
e
If “MUTING” appears on the display, press the MUTING
button.
The sound is noisy.
e
The unit is too close to a TV or similar device. Relocate
it away from the interferring device or turn it off.
Remote control unit does not work.
e
Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn the unit on.
e
If the battery is exhausted, replace it with a new one
(see page 5).
e
Use the remote control unit within the operation
range (5 m) and point it at the remote sensor on the
front panel.
e
Remove obstacles between the remote control unit
and the main unit.
e
If a bright light is near the unit, turn it off.
iPod/iPhone Player
Cannot insert the iPod/iPhone.
e
Check the Dock Adapter (see page 11).
e
Remove dust or obstacles from the dock connectors
of the SR-2DAB and the iPod/iPhone, and insert the
iPod/iPhone again.
iPod will not play.
e
Remove the iPod/iPhone from the Dock, wait a few
seconds, and insert it again.
e
A software update might solve the problem. Visit the
Apple website and download the latest iPod/iPhone
software (see page 11).
Cannot operate the iPod/iPhone.
e
Release the iPod/iPhone HOLD switch.
DAB tuner
No sound.
e
Ensure that the unit has been able to locate a DAB
station.
“NO STATIONS AVAILABLE” appears on the display.
e
Confirm that a DAB broadcast is available in your area.
Cannot access secondary services.
e
Not all services are accompanied by secondary
services. If a secondary service is available, the
secondary indicator (“>>”) is displayed next to the
station name.
Display disappears or “service off air” displayed.
e
This may occur if a broadcaster changes the label of a
service or removes the label while you are listening to
it. The unit will try to retune the station. If the problem
persists, follow the procedure for automatic scanning
on page 17.
Cannot listen to the selected station.
e
Confirm that you have pressed the SELECT button
to listen to a selection. The station you are currently
listening to will be displayed on the first line of the
display, the second line will show other station options
as you scroll through the station order list. Press the
SELECT button to activate your selection.
A burbling sound is heard on some stations.
e
A DAB system is able to produce quality audio from a
low level signal, but when the signal level is too low,
a “burbling” sound might be heard. To reduce this,
try repositioning your antenna to maximize signal
reception.
FM Tuner
Cannot listen to any station, or the signal is too weak.
e
Tune in a station properly.
e
Rotate the DAB/FM antenna until you receive a station
clearly.
If normal operation cannot be restored, unplug the
power cord from the socket and plug it in again.
