TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

 

If it appears that the unit is faulty, first consult this checklist. It may be that something simple has been 
overlooked. 

Note

: Under no circumstances should you try to repair the unit yourself as this will void the warranty. 

Only qualified service personnel should remove the cover or service this unit.

 

NO POWER 

Check that the player is switched on. 

Check  the  position  of  the  ON/OFF  POWER 

switch  on  the  back  of  the  unit.  Press  the  [

STANDBY button 

Check  that  the  power  cord  is  properly 

connected. 

NO PICTURE 

Check that the TV is switched on. 

Check that the correct AV  input is selected  on 
the  TV  (refer  to  the  TV  manual  for  more 
details). 

Check the connection between the player  and 
TV. 

NO PICTURE AT HDMI OUTPUT

Check if the HDMI input is selected on your TV. 

Check  if  the  HDMI  resolution  selected 

corresponds to resolution of your HD TV. 

Check if your HD TV supports HDCP. 

BAD

 

QUALITY PICTURE

 

Check the disc for fingerprints and clean with   

    a soft cloth, wiping from the center to the   
    edge. 

  Check if the disc format is compatible with the   

    TV (PAL/NTSC). 

BLACK AND WHITE PICTURE 

Check that the disc format is compatible with the 

TV (PAL/NTSC). 

Check  that  the  DVD  player  is  not  connected 
through the VCR.   

INTERFERENCE 

  Place the unit as far away as possible from any 

source  of  interference  or  emissions  (e.g.  a 
radio, mobile phone, radiator etc.). 

NOISE  OR  DISTORTED  SOUND  IN  RADIO 

MODE 

Extend and position the FM antenna to achieve 
the  best  reception.  Try  switching  to  mono 
sound with the MO/ST button.

 

 

THE REMOTE CONTROL IS NOT WORKING 

Aim the remote control directly at the sensor on 
the front of the player. 

Avoid any obstacles that might interfere with the 

transmission path. 

Inspect and/or replace the batteries.

   

NO SOUND 

Check audio connections. 

If using a Hi-Fi amplifier, try another sound   

    source. 

Clean the disc. 

Check whether the disc is defective by trying   
another disc. 

NO AUDIO FROM DIGITAL OUTPUT 

Check the digital connections. 

Check the audio setup menu to make sure that 
the digital output is correctly set. 

Check if the audio format selected is compatible 

with the player. 

DISC NOT PLAYING 

Ensure disc is placed properly in the disc tray. 

IMPROPER FUNCTIONING 

The  normal  function  of  the  product  may  be 

disturbed  by  external  interference.  Just  reset 
the product by disconnecting and reconnecting 
the power cord. 

NO  SOUND,  POOR  SOUND  IN  iPhone/iPod 

MODE

 

Check  that  the  right  universal  dock  adapter  is 
being used. 

The  EQ  function  in  your  iPhone/iPod  must  be 
set to 

Off

NO VIDEO OUTPUT IN iPhone/iPod MODE

 

Your iPhone/iPod video setting 

 TV OUT must 

be set to 

ON

Ensure  your  external  monitor  is  connected  to   
the unit

cable supplied. 

HDMI Compatibility 

HDMI is continually evolving to meet the needs of 
the  market.  Any  symptoms  of  compatibility 
problem  with  your  apparatus  such  as  incorrect 
color space  that  may  not  be  the fault  of this unit 
can probably be resolved with a firmware update
