This chapter describes how to use the Setup menu. Using the
Setup menu, you can adjust the picture size, set a language for
the OSD (on screen displays), limit playback by children, et
cetera.
MAKE SURE YOUR TV IS CONNECTED TO THE DVD PLAYER AND
TURNED ON. SET UP USES ON-SCREEN MENUS TO PROGRAM.
Press the SETUP button.

The Setup menu appears on the TV screen.

The Setup Navigator may appear on the screen if you haven't
finished it yet. Select "Auto Start Off" by pressing the ENTER
button. From next time, the settings you changed last time will
appear.

If a normal TV (4:3) is connected and you press the SETUP
button during playback of DVD, the screen might be distorted a
while. It is not a malfunction.

Some settings may be grayed out and cannot be changed
during playback. In that case, stop playback and press the
SETUP button again.

Use the SETUP button to display or exit the Setup menu.

Very occasionally, the resume function might be cancelled by
pressing the SETUP button.

When no action is taken for 30 seconds, the Setup mode will
be cancelled.

Buttons which can be used in the Setup menu are shown at
the bottom of the screen. In some cases you can press the
RETURN button to leave the screen without making any
changes.
Select an item you want to change using the DIRECTION
buttons.

If you want to select another tab, move the cursor to the
current tab by pressing the UP button, and press the RIGHT or
LEFT button to select another tab.
Move the cursor to the option list by pressing the RIGHT
button.

Select an option by pressing the UP/DOWN buttons and press
the ENTER button to save the selection.

button to exit the Setup menu.

The current setting for any option is marked with a colored
box. The color of the box indicates what kind of disc the
setting is applicable to: blue for DVD only; yellow for DVD and
Video CD; orange for DVD-Audio, SACD and CD; green for any
type of disc.

If you try to change settings for DVD while a disc other than
DVD is loaded, DVD icon will briefly appear on the screen. The
change will take effect when a DVD is loaded next time.
