DISPENSER PREPARATIONS
Handling of TC Drawers
The unit does not allow all of the TC drawers to open at the same time to prevent it from tipping over.
(Four drawers in the same row can be opened simultaneously, but two drawers in different rows cannot
be opened simultaneously.) If a TC drawer will not open, do not try to force it open, but use the steps
provided below:
1.
If a TC drawer cannot be opened
Check if another TC drawer above or below the TC drawer you want to pull out has been pulled out. For
example, if you want to pull out TC drawer No. 1, check if any TC drawer in the vertical column (No. 5, 9, 13 or
17) have been pulled out. If a drawer has been pulled out, first close that drawer before opening the drawer you
want to pull out.
How to Refill a Tablet Canister
[Step 1]
Determine the location of the tablet canister you want to fill. The tablet canisters in a TC drawer
all have a unique 3 digit number. Each tablet canister is labeled with its correct location.
[Step 2]
Remove the tablet canister that you want to fill.
[Step 3]
Fill the tablet canister with medication.
Do not overfill the canister! The lid should close easily (there should be a clearance of about 5 mm at the
top).
[Step 4]
Install the tablet canister back in the unit in its correct location. Take care to correctly position
the groove at the bottom of the tablet canister in the motor base. If the tablet canister is not properly
seated, verify that it is facing the correct direction.
Note: Misplaced canisters can result in the incorrect medication dispensing! Use extra care when placing canisters
into the ATP and never force a canister into a location.
