STEERING GEAR, SS-536, SS-546, MX-600
1: Remove the steering gear from the vehicle.
2: Remove the steering wheel.
3: Remove the cover bolts.
4: Remove the cover and discard the gasket.
Note: The stem and gear may come off with the cover.
5: Remove as much grease as possible from the inside of the gear box.
6: Remove the gear case and clean the remaining grease from the bottom of the
gear box.
7: If the stem and gear did not come out with the top cover, remove it now.
8: Remove and discard the lower gasket.
9: Thoroughly clean all parts.
10: Reassemble in reverse order installing new gaskets.

Check the bronze bushings for wear and replace them as needed.
•
Apply grease to all gears.
