Make sure that one cable is only connected to the transmit ports, and the other cable is only
connected to the receive ports.

USSI Interface
The front panel on the Tasman 1450 provides a module with both a HSSI and a V.35 interface for
connecting to equipment with either of those interfaces.
HSSI Interface
The USSI module on the front panel of the Tasman 1450 provides two ports (DTE and DCE) for
connecting to a HSSI interface. Determine whether the Tasman equipment will function as DTE or
DCE equipment, and use the appropriate HSSI port.
NOTE:
The default HSSI configuration is DTE. To use the Tasman as DCE equipment, you must
reconfigure the interface and reboot the system.
To connect to a HSSI interface:

Insert the cable connector on a HSSI cable in the HSSI port (DTE or DCE) on the front panel of
the 1450 system.
Make sure that the cable connector is firmly attached and locked in the port.

Connect the other end of the cable to a router or switch, as appropriate.
