3000 DUMP BODY/SPREADER OPERATION &
MAINTENANCE
HOW TO RAISE AND LOWER THE PROTECTIVE HINGED FLOOR
COVERING THE CONVEYOR CHAIN

CAUTION
MAKE SURE THE CONVEYOR CHAIN AND SPINNER ARE IN
THE OFF POSTION PRIOR TO ENTERING THE DUMP BODY
TO RAISE OR LOWER THE FLOOR. FAILURE TO DO SO
COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

CAUTION
TWO PEOPLE, ONE AT EACH END OF THE FLOOR, SHOULD
ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE EACH TIME THE FLOOR IS RAISED
TO THE STORAGE POSITION FOR SANDER USAGE OR
LOWERED TO THE FLAT PROTECTIVE POSITION FOR DUMP
BODY USE.

CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA UNDER THE FLOOR IS CLEAR
PRIOR TO LOWERING IT. MAKE SURE THAT THE FLOOR IS
FREE OF MATERIAL AND DEBRIS PRIOR TO RAISING IT TO
THE STORAGE POSITION.
To Use:
1. Prior to raising the floor, insure that the safety tabs used to hold the floor in place have been
maintained and the ny-lock nuts are tight and working properly.
2. To place the hinged floor in the raised position, place one person on each end of the floor.
3. Slowly raise the floor to meet the side of the dump body.
4. Once the floor is in position, place the metal tabs over each corner of the floor to hold it in
position. Make sure the tabs fit tightly and are secure prior to releasing.
To Put Away:
1. With one person on each end of the floor panel, ensure that no part of any person or material
is in the area to be covered by the floor once it is placed in the lowered, flat position.
FAILURE TO CLEAR THIS AREA COULD CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY .
2. While each person is holding the floor in the upright position, carefully remove the metal
safety tabs from each corner of the floor.
3. With each person continuing to hold corner of the floor, slowly lower the floor until it is the
flat position covering the conveyor chain.
