Hardware Set up

The following describes the hardware configuration required

for proper 2-stage thermostat operation. For complete
controller installation details, please see TC-1 Installation

Guide and related advisories.

Power the TC-1 via appropriate mains voltage and
wire per TC-1 Installation Instructions.

Attached a TP-1 temperature probe to the controller's

probe bus. Install a TP-1 temperature probe in an
appropriate location for sensing glycol temperature.

Use shielded CAT-5 cable to extended the probe
cables as needed being sure to ground the shield only

inside controller. Do not exceed 50' of  total probe
cable length. If using two probes, be sure to attach

the probes in a bus topology (e.g., from  controller to
TP-1 and then from TP-1 to TP-2). Make all cable

splices as close to the probes as possible and use only
moisture-proof, gel-filled IDC connectors for splices.

Ensure that shield is contiguous from controller
through to TP-2.

Wire RELAY 1 to the solenoid or valve that controls

STAGE 1 of the chiller

Wire RELAY 2 to the solenoid or valve that controls
STAGE 2 of the chiller

Attach network cable to the controller per Echelon FT

wiring guide. Networking is optional.

Software Set up

Enter program mode by pressing and releasing the
PGM button

Press the PGM button to advance to the 'CC' and turn

this menu item 'On' via the UP or DOWN button

Press the PGM button to advance to 'diF' (thermostat
differential) and adjust as desired via UP/DOWN
buttons
