Welcome.
We are delighted that you have decided to purchase a
product. Your new
V10 integrated valve amplifier is a
Hi-Fi unit of the highest class, which has been carefully designed and developed with the wishes of the demanding music
lover as absolute top priority.
We live in the age of broad-band media such as SACD and DVD-Audio, which are capable of storing and reproducing
frequencies far above 20 kHz. Classic valve amplifiers are simply unable to meet the demands of these media. That is why
we came to the conclusion that a completely new valve-based amplifier was required. The
V10
incorporates new circuit
technology, newly developed valve types and output transformers, and as a result leaves conventional valve technology
with all its limitations trailing in its wake.
The
SPPP
(
Single Primary Push Pull
) circuit design which we have developed represents a great advance in the technology
of valve amplifiers. These new techniques solve many of the problems inherent in classic valve amplifiers such as
asymmetry and DC-magnetisation of the output transformers. The new circuit design allows the use of superior torroidal
transformers in the output section of the power amplifier. The upper limit frequency of the
V10
is 100 kHz - a value which
appeared to be unattainable with valve amplifiers until now. The superiority of the new circuit becomes clearly evident when
you realise that this high limit frequency is achieved without negative feedback via the transformer, which always has an
adverse effect on sound quality.
In addition to a high upper limit frequency the large dynamic range of the new media also calls for substantial power
reserves in the output stages. The
V10
incorporates completely newly developed valves in the form of the EL509/II. These
components can handle very high anode currents, and this is the key to the
V10
’s substantial output power of more than
80 Watts per channel. A further important point is that the
V10
achieves this elevated power potential without connecting the
output valves in parallel - a circuit feature which always presents problems in terms of sound quality.
The
V10
also exploits the latest semi-conductors and micro-processors in addition to its innovative valve technology.
However, the semi-conductors are not employed for signal amplification - the signal processing in the
V10
is carried out
exclusively by means of valves! In the
V10
the semi-conductors are used for a number of important auxiliary purposes, such
as the constant checking and monitoring of all operational parameters. As a result the
V10
is extremely secure and reliable
in operation. For example, the amplifier informs you automatically if the valves should lose their optimum operating
characteristics at any time due to inevitable ageing effects. All valve-based equipment requires the correct adjustment of the
idle current (BIAS), and in the
V10
this task can be carried out very easily with the help of the micro-processor, and
therefore does not need special meters or other auxiliary equipment.
The
V10
also sets new standards in many other respects, such as special vibration absorbers in the case feet. These
prevent external sound and mechanical vibration reaching the delicate valves, where microphony effects can have an
adverse influence on sound quality.
This unit is the embodiment of innovative thinking and solid quality, exploiting the finest materials and components available,
and all these factors contribute to a machine which will satisfy your most stringent demands and your most searching
requirements for a period of many years.
Our production areas are supervised by highly qualified expert staff, and all final production units are checked
comprehensively by a fully automated, computer-controlled system to ensure uniformly high quality. We guarantee that
our products meet our own specifications to the full.
At all stages of production we avoid the use of substances which are environmentally unsound or potentially hazardous
to health, such as chlorine-based cleaning agents and CFCs.
We also aim to avoid the use of plastics in general, and PVC in particular, in the design of our products. Instead we rely
upon metals and other non-hazardous materials; metal components are ideal for recycling, and also provide effective
electrical screening.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the faith you have shown in our company by purchasing this
product, and wish you many hours of enjoyment and sheer listening pleasure with your amplifier.

All the components we use meet the German and European safety norms and standards which are currently
valid. The operation instructions, the connection guidance and the safety notes are for your own good - please
read them carefully and observe them at all times.
