CONTROLS AND INDICATORS
VFD Display
A 20 character by 2 line VFD (Vacuum
Fluorescent Display), provides compre-
hensive information on the configuration
of the unit and current status.
VU Meters
20 bit Digital VU Meters for monitoring Left
and Right audio channels with Peak Hold.
The Meter range is -54dB to 0dB.
VU Button
Allows the user to monitor either the Input
or Output audio via the Digital VU Meters.
This button operates by toggling between
the Input and Output audio signals. Each
time it is depressed, it will cause the VFD
Display to flash the current selection for 1
seconds.
Note that if the current Patch Function is set to
Dial On Audio, the VU Button will be disabled since
the Input audio is being monitored continuously
for activity. The following message is displayed:

Menu Buttons
Menu Scroll Up / Previous button.
Menu Scroll Down / Next button.
Menu Select / Edit button is used to
select the configuration which is to be
modified.

answer No or to abort the configuration
change. The

button is also used to
exit a menu level and return to the level
above. Pressing the

times will always take the user back to the
Unit Description display.

DIAL Button
The
DIAL
button is used to dial an ISDN
call.
(a) Manual Dial
The first depression of the
DIAL
button
will take the unit into the Manual Dial
menu as the first option. This allows the
user to type in an ISDN number via the
keypad. An optional sub-address can also
be specified by use of the
button (trans-
lated to # on the display), followed by a
numerical sub-address:

Once the ISDN number has been en-
tered, a second depression of the
DIAL
button instructs the unit to dial the dis-
played ISDN number. The call status is
then displayed as follows:
B1: Ready
B2: Ready
B3: Ready
B4: Ready
B1: Dial
B2: Ready
B3: Ready
B4: Ready
If the call has successfully connected then
the following is displayed:
B1: Con
B2: Ready
B3: Ready
B4: Ready
If the call fails to be established, then one
of the following diagnostics messages is
displayed for 1 seconds:
ISDN CLEARING
Together with:
Error
Remote Error
Disconnected
Number Unobtainable
Number Incomplete
Number Changed
Network Busy
Number Busy
Line Out Of Service
Not Allowed
Acknowledgment
No Reply
Incompatible Dest
To Dial the B2, B3 and B4 Channels,
repeat the above procedure for each. The
audio bandwidth will automatically adjust
to include the additional B Channels.
