Open Collector Output

J8 on the Modular ARC provides an open collector output which 
can be used to fire an external LED indicator (LED lit when OC 
inactive) or drive an external relay. This logic output is addressable 
by SymNet Designer’s RS-232/485 Controller Number system. Pin 
1 is the active

output, Pin 2 is ground. Typical wirings are shown below.  

Note

: this output cannot drive an LED directly; an external  

power source is required. Refer to SymNet Designer’s Help for  
programming information.

Logic Input

J5 on the Modular ARC provides an extra logic input which can 
be wired to any simple closure by the installer. This logic input is 
addressable by SymNet Designer’s RS-232/485 Controller Number 

system. Pin 1 is the active input, Pin 2 is ground. A typical wiring 
is shown below. Refer to SymNet Designer’s help for programming 
information.
