Scanning Problems
Bar code labels that do not meet established industry specifications may not scan
successfully. These labels may include:
•
Smudged labels
•
Very dark or very light labels
•
Highly reflective surfaces or coatings
•
Poor color contrast.
The following may also cause unsuccessful scans:
•
Moving the contact wand scanner too quickly
•
Moving the contact wand scanner too slowly
•
Moving the contact wand scanner at an uneven speed
•
Moving the scanner diagonally across the bar code.
