
RAID parity information is used to reconstruct on the hot spare the data that is
stored on the failed drive. Rebuilding the data on the hot spare can take several
hours to complete. After the failed drive is replaced, copyback can be invoked to
have the hot spare drive populate the new drive with the data. The hot spare drive
is returned to the hot spare role.
