Operating instructions
CCD colour camera 420TVL
• The camera is suitable for use in indoor and outdoor areas (IP65).
However, it must never be operated in or under water, this will de-
stroy it.
The plugs at the connection cable of the camera are not water-
proof or water tight and must therefore be placed in a dry indoor
area.
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, di-
rect sunlight, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Make sure that the connection cable is not being pinched or dam-
aged by sharp edges.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become
dangerous playthings for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts,
blows, or accidental drops, even from a low height.
• If the camera is used with other devices e.g. a monitor, the opera-
ting instructions and safety notices for the connected devices must
be followed.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable
conditions.
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of
the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Sys-
tems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
• Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables
between the different devices and any extension cables comply
with the regulations and comply with the operating instructions.
• During installation, make sure the connecting cables are neither
jammed nor damaged by sharp edges.
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the unit is
not to be used for a while (e.g. for storage).
• If you have any questions not answered in this manual, please con-
tact our technical support or another specialist.
Installation
The camera is equipped with a standard stand thread. It can therefore not
only be mounted with the provided mounting foot, but also on every other
holder with stand thread.
If you want to use the provided mounting foot it is to be af
fi
xed in a suitable
location with three screws. Use dowels if required by the surface.
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that ca-
bles or wires are not damaged.
Adjust the camera to the desired position and then
fi
x the mounting holder.
The camera should not be directed directly towards bright sources of light or
the sun, since the image will be overdriven by this.
For outdoor use we recommend to choose a location that is protec-
ted from rainfall, to prevent the formation of droplets that will cause
a distorted and unusable image.
Proper use according to manufacturer's instructions
This camera is meant for mounting in, and protecting, secluded or critical
areas (e.g. entrance areas, surveillance of underground car parks and the
like).
The product is designed for operation indoors and outdoors (IP65).
The camera is operated with a voltage of 12V/DC.
Please bear in mind that it is prohibited by law to observe strangers with a
camera without their knowledge and consent. Observe the rules and regu-
lations of the country where you are using the camera.
Any use other than that described above can damage the product. More-
over, this can give rise to hazards, e.g., short-circuit,
fi
re, electric shock, etc.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in
these operating instructions.
