any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate
the warranty/guarantee.
a) Gateway
• The design of the product complies with protection class II. Only a standard mains
socket connected to the public grid may be used as the power source for the
device.
• If the product is damaged, do not touch it; there is a danger to life from electric
shock!
Fully disconnect the mains voltage for the mains socket to which the product is
connected (e.g. turn off the corresponding circuit breaker or unscrew the fuse, and
then turn off the ground fault circuit interrupter). Unplug the product from the mains
socket and take it to a specialist repair centre.
• Check the product for damage before using it!
• If you discover any damage, the product must NOT be connected to the mains
voltage! Fatal hazard!
• The product is only suitable for dry, enclosed indoor areas. It must be protected
from moisture and dampness; never touch it with wet hands!
Danger to life through an electric shock!
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
• Keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around, as they present a choking hazard for children
and pets. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed. Danger of
death!
• When handling leaking or damaged non-rechargeable/rechargeable batteries, al-
ways use suitable protective gloves to avoid burning your skin.
• Always ensure that the batteries are inserted in the correct polarity (observe the
plus/+ and minus/- symbols).
• Batteries must never be short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into fire. This may
cause an explosion!
• Do not recharge single-use, non-rechargeable batteries. This may cause an explo-
sion! Charge only rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a
suitable battery charger.
• Replace a dead battery/rechargeable battery as soon as possible with a new one,
or remove the spent battery/rechargeable battery. A dead battery/rechargeable
battery may leak and can damage the device!
• If not used for a longer period (e.g. in case of storage), remove the inserted
batteries/rechargeable batteries. If batteries/rechargeable batteries are too old,
there is a risk that they will leak, causing damage to the product. This will void
the warranty!
• Always replace the whole set of batteries/rechargeable batteries; only use batte-
ries/rechargeable batteries of the same type/manufacturer and the same charging
state (do not use charged batteries together with half-charged or flat batteries/
rechargeable batteries).
