Rear Panel Rear Panel
P. IEC POWER CORD SOCKET
— Connect the included
power cord to a grounded A/C electrical outlet in
accordance with the voltage and frequency ratings
specified on the rear panel of your amplifier.
Q. INTERNAL SPEAKER — Connection for the internal
speaker. Read Speaker Guidelines on page 10 before
changing speaker connections.
R. EXTERNAL SPEAKER
— Connect an external speaker
cabinet here using either the Speakon® connector or the
1 / 4 " jack. The speaker cabinet must be 4Ω minimum and
capable of handling 350 watts. Read Speaker Guidelines
on page 10 before making speaker connections.
S. TUNER OUTPUT* — Plug your tuner in here for
convenient instrument tuning. Use the Mute {A} switch
to disable audio output while tuning.
T. FOOTSWITCH — Plug the (included) footswitch in here
using the supplied cable. The footswitch enables remote
selection of the Subwave, Mute and Tuner features.
• SUBWAVE
—Press SUB to switch the Subwave circuit
on-off as indicated by the blue LED.
• MUTE
—Press
MUTE
to switch the Mute circuit on-off as
indicated by the red LED.
• TUNER and MUTE —Press and hold MUTE for one second
to activate the built-in Tuner. Strike a single string and
the nearest note will appear in the footswitch display.
The red LED (left) will show if the note is flat, the blue LED
(right) shows if the note is sharp and the green (center)
LED if the note is in tune.
NOTE: The Black Beauty footswitch contains an integrated
instrument tuner which only operates when plugged
into the footswitch jack. It is not a stand-alone tuner
and is not intended for connection to a bass or audio
signal.
U. EFFECTS LOOP*
— Connect Send to your effects input
and Return to the effects output.
NOTE:
Any effects
device with a "WET/DRY" control should be set to the
fully WET position to prevent phasing problems. Effects
"INPUT LEVEL" should be set as close to 0 dB as possible.
The Send output includes onboard tone shaping. Send
level is primarily controlled by Gain {C}. The Return input
is a line level signal that can be blended in any ratio
with the onboard preamp signal using Effects Blend {N}.
V. BALANCED OUTPUTS*
— Outputs suitable for connection
to studio and “front-of-house” (live) mixing consoles.
These true electronically balanced jacks are line level
outputs in order to maximize the signal to noise ratio.
To avoid clipping (especially with the XLR output) make
sure to set the console input level to "LINE LEVEL" or
reduce the output level using the XLR Pad {L} control.
