Starting difficulty.
1. Defective thermoelement.
2. Air leaking from the joint between intake pipe and car-
buretor.
3. Air leaking from carburetor joint or vacuum hose joint.
4. Clogged fuel pipe.
Replace.
Check intake pipe and car-
buretor for tightness, and re-
place gasket.
Tighten or replace the defec-
tive part.
Clean.
Idling or low-speed
trouble.
1. Clogged or loose pilot jet.
2. Air leaking from carburetor joint, vacuum pipe joint, or
intake pipe.
3. Improperly operating thermoelement.
Check and clean.
Tighten or replace the defec-

Medium or high-
speed trouble.
1. Clogged main jet.
2. Clogged needle jet.
3. Improperly set fuel level.
4. Improperly operating throttle valve.
5. Clogged fuel filter.
Check and clean.

Check and adjust float
height.

Clean or replace.
Overflow and fuel
level fluctuations.
1. Worn or damaged needle valve.
2. Broken needle valve spring.
3. Improperly working float.
4. Foreign matter on the needle valve.
5. High or low fuel level.
Replace.
