Wireless Basic
-Wireless Device Name :
The descriptive/meaningful string used by the wireless diagnostic utility
(like search or locating utility) to report which Access Point or Access Point Router it is.
-SSID (Service Set ID):
A unique ID shared among all points in the same wireless network. The
SSID must be identical for all points in the network. It is must not exceed 32 characters. The same
SSID group means that all wireless client PCs and at least one (or more) Access Point/ Access Point
Router uses the identical SSID. If the SSID is not correct, they will not be able to communicate with
each other.
-Channel:
The radio channel used by the Wireless LAN Broadband Router. The allowed number of
channels depends on the country because radio regulations are different in different countries. (eg.
US, Europe and Japan)
-Wireless Access Point :
You can disable the Access Point function so the Wireless Router will Act
as normal SOHO router.
-Mode :
802.11b+g : If there are 802.11b devices in your wireless network,choose b+g mixed mode.
802.11g : If all the devices in your wireless network are 802.11g ones, choose 802.11g mode to get
better transfer rate .
-Region:
Choose the region where you located.NA for north America ,ETS for most European
countries,FR for France,JP for Japan and SP for Spain.
-Channel :
The allowed number of channels depends on the country because radio regulations are
different in different countries.
Security
-Disable Broadcast of SSID :
Broadcast the SSID will allow all wireless devices to detect the
SSID and access to your network. By disabling this feature, the SSID in the client must match the
SSID of the Wireless Router.
-WEP Enabled :
Click to Enable/disable Wired Equivalent Privacy security function.
-WEP Key Length :
Select 64 or 128-bit WEP Encryption. Note that the settings in the Wireless
LAN Broadband Router are the same as all wireless clients.Otherwise communication will not be
possible.
-PassPhrase:
Click Generate WEP key to generate WEP-64 or WEP-128 key 1-4 automatically.
-WEP key to use :
Selects one of four key sets to be used for encryption. To connect to a Wi-Fi
compliant wireless device, which key to use must be selected.
-Key 1 to Key 4 :
You can manually type in these four fields to set Encryption keys.
-Authentication:
Select shared key, open system, or both authentication algorithms.
Open System –
No authentication is needed among the wireless stations.
Shared Key –
Only wirelss client PCs or stations using a shared key (WEP Key identified) are
