Locate the CPU fan connector on

the motherboard. (Refer to the
motherboard layout for the loca-
tion.)
Position the heatsink so that the

heatsink fan wires are closest to
the CPU fan connector and do not
interfere with other components.
Route the CPU fan wires through

the bottom of the heatsink.
Remove the thin layer of protective

fi lm from the copper core of the
heatsink.
Warning
: The CPU may over-
heat if the protective fi lm is not
removed from the heatsink.
Apply the proper amount of ther-

mal grease on the CPU. If your
heatsink came with a thermal pad,
please ignore this step.
If necessary, rearrange the wires

to make sure that they are not
pinched between the heatsink and
the CPU. Also make sure to main-
tain clearance between the fan
wires and the fi ns of the heatsink.
Align the four heatsink fasten-

ers with the mounting holes on
the motherboard. Gently push the
pairs of diagonal fasteners (#1 &
#2, and #3 & #4) into the mounting
holes until you hear a click.
