PCI Expansion Card Installation
The system includes two pre-installed riser cards (p/n RSC-R1UW-E8R and
RSC-R1UW-2E16). Riser cards on chassis brackets allow you to add PCI expansion cards.
•
RSC-R1UW-E8R supports one standard size PCI-E x8 expansion card.
•
RSC-R1UW-2E16 supports two standard size PCI-E x16 expansion cards.
Installing PCI Expansion Cards
Perform the following steps to install an add-on card:
1. Remove power from the system as described in Section 3.1.
2. Remove the chassis cover as described in Section 3.2.
3. Remove the bracket and sections of the chassis in the rear.
4. Insert the expansion card into a slot on the riser card while aligning the expansion card
backplate with the open slot in the rear of the chassis.
5. Insert the riser card into the motherboard expansion slot while aligning the riser card
bracket with the rear of the chassis. The riser card bracket is toolless and has pins that
snap into holes on the rear of the chassis.
