5-3 Connecting Cables
Now that the processors are installed, the next step is to connect the cables to the
serverboard. These include the data (ribbon) cables for the peripherals and control
panel and the power cables.
Connecting Data Cables
The cables used to transfer data from the peripheral devices have been carefully
routed in preconfigured systems to prevent them from blocking the flow of cooling
air that moves through the system from front to back. If you need to disconnect any
of these cables, you should take care to reroute them as they were originally after
reconnecting them and be aware of the pin 1 locations. If you are configuring the
system, keep the airflow in mind when routing the cables.
5-4 I/O Ports
See Figure 5-2 below for the locations of the various I/O ports located on the back
of the serverboard.

5-5 Installing Memory
Note:
The system comes with memory already preinstalled. Follow the instructions
below when adding or replacing DIMMs.
Installing DIMMs
1.
Push the release tabs outwards on both ends of the DIMM slot to unlock it.
2.
Align the key on the DIMM with the receptive point on the slot. Use two thumbs
together to press on both ends of the module straight down into the slot until
the DIMM snaps into place.
3.
Press the release tabs to the locked positions to secure the DIMM into the slot.
See Figure 5-3.
Memory Support
The system comes with eight 8 GB preinstalled memory modules for a total of 64
GB DDR4-2400 MHz low-profile registered ECC memory.
