2.5 Installing the Chassis into a Rack
Once rails are attached to the chassis and the rack, you can install the server.
Warning:
Mounting the system into the rack requires at least two people to support the
chassis during installation. Please follow safety recommendations printed on the rails.
Installing the Chassis into a Rack
1.
Confirm that chassis includes the inner rails (A), also confirm that the outer rails (B) are
installed on the rack.
2. Align chassis rails (A) with the front of the rack rails (B).
3. Slide the chassis rails into the rack rails, keeping the pressure even on both sides
(you may have to depress the locking tabs when inserting). When the server has been
pushed completely into the rack, you should hear the locking tabs "click" into the locked
position.
4. Tighten up all the screws on the front side and rear side of both outer rails.
5. (Optional) Insert and tightening the thumbscrews that hold the front of the server to the
rack.
