Hard Disk Error Messages
The first group of errors listed below may appear during the
initialization process, before anything else happens.
1.
No Hard Disk Installed — The program could not
find a hard disk drive installed on the system. This
message appears if there is no hard disk on the
system and you have chosen to run the Hard Disk
Utility.
2.
FATAL ERROR Bad Hard Disk — The program is
not getting a response from the hard disk, or the
hard disk is not repairable. Check all cable and
power connections to the hard disk.
3.
Hard Disk Controller Failure — The program is getting
an error response from the reset command
sent to the hard disk controller. Check to see that
the controller is seated properly in the bus slot.
4.
C: (D:) Hard Disk Failure — The hard disk drive (C or D)
is not responding to commands sent to it by the
program. Check power and cable connections to the
hard disk.
